Becoming a Better Leader Bundle
Description
Most people step into leadership because they did their previous job well, and few get any formal preparation for leading others. This course gives you practical tools you can use the following week. You will look at how you lead now and learn to adjust your style to suit the person and the situation. You will also practise giving feedback and coaching your team, and you will learn how to build a team where people speak up. Each module ends with a short realistic scenario, such as dealing with a receptionist who keeps arriving late or with a team resisting a new triage system, where you make the decisions and see what follows. You finish with a personal leadership action plan.
Learning Aim
To help you lead people with more confidence, self-awareness and consistency, so your team performs well and wants to stay.

Learning outcomes
Objectives describe what you will be able to do by the end of the course. Outcomes describe what should change in your day-to-day practice once you are back at work. Within 3 months of completing the course, you should be able to:
- Hold regular, structured 1:1s with each team member using the GROW model.
- Give specific feedback, both positive and developmental, at least once a week, instead of saving it for appraisals.
- Adjust how much direction you give depending on whether a person is new to a task or experienced in it.
- Delegate at least one task you currently hold onto, with clear limits on authority.
- Handle a difficult conversation calmly and with a clear plan, without avoiding it.
- Create team meetings where staff raise concerns and mistakes openly.
- Review and update your 90-day leadership action plan.
